went out for a bit of a blat tonight, thought thats a new noise best have a look.

bolts ALL loose on drive shafts both sides arghghghgh, lucky i keep a pocket alan key set with me, whats the best way to keep them in, thred lock ?

whilst i was under there i noticed a bit of grease splashed around, is this because the bolts were loose of will it be something else ?

Could be the bolts or over fill of the CV joints, i did this and sprayed it everywhere till i found some better/proper CV boot ties.

As for the bolts yes thread lock, make sure its all nice and clean before though.

We pretty much used Loctite 242 everywhere - it is an anitivibration threadlock which has medium strength - it allows for disassembly. It resists oil and vibrations. Hasn't failed us once... all bolts remain tight and in place after 3 years unless we broke the seal ourselves. Most all other places have locknuts.

Check the bolts holding the bottom rear wishbones to the rear carriers and the top bolts on the mushrooms to the transit upper balljoints............three cars have had these go slack
