Could someone just confirm for me that the central pivot "ball" (no idea what it is called) on the brake bias bar should easily spass through the tube in which it sits on the brake pedal.

Mine is seems to need some pretty resonable force to get it to move through and I am sure this is not right . So before I try to do something about it I thought I would just check.

It should.

Mine was a little difficult to pass through and had the slightest whiff of surface rust which i took off with a bit of emery paper after about 30 secs.

Dont forget to grease it even if you dont have to emery the inside of the tube.

Ideally it should pass through the tube without any slack, so it can be quite snug as long as it will draw through when turning the adjuster bar either way - but grease it well to avoid jamming.

mine was very tight - i.e woudl not even go into the pedal, so i used a wirebrush in a drill to clean the inside of the pedal up, and to thin out the powder coating. i then polished the bearing on the bias bar up on a bench polisher, then applied some copper grease.

although its a little snug, it now goes in and can be moved within the pedal.
