front hub 's

Morning,

Currently im running a sierra front hub on a luego locost chassis and have purchased some alloy cortina hubs from deckerman i think on here.

My question is when changing the hub will my geometry be different in that i am just looking to buy some wheels i know that they will fit both cortina and sierra hubs but will the offset be different.

Any help much appreciated.

I've never done the change so i could be very (VERY) wrong, but the two don't have the same wishbone mounts do they?

Stand to be corrected, but I think it's more than just the offset that will be different. I've a feeling I read that the whole geometry was quite different, although you may be able to compensate for this within the range of camber / castor adjustment on the car.

I've made the mistake here. Sierra hubs and Cortina hubs are quite different and therefore require different length wishbones. i.e. locost length for Cortina and Sierra width for Sierra

If you swap to Cortina uprights you'll need a longer top or shorter bottom wishbone

My current top wishbone goes into a mushroom that sits inside the top of the sierra using a pinch bolt.

I always thought that the locost wishbone set up was intended for cortina uprights and the mushroom adapter allowed for you to use the sierra upright !

Well, the Locost bones are purely for the Cortina. The mushrooms are for Sierra and just fill the space where the suspension strut used to be and allows the top wishbone to be mounted there. Sorry

thats what i said ?

subtle difference, but the tina and sierra top bones are different lengths - the mushroom just mounts the ball joint, it doesnt correct the length.

Ok sorry mis-understood that.
