I can't get the rear Sierra caliper to fit over the discs when the pads are in place

Ive read that you need to back the caliper off by turning it clockwise with needle nose pliers.

I must have turned it about 50 times and it hasn't moved - any suggestions?

You need to turn the piston AND apply a constant push against the piston at the same time.

Agree with ^^^^ just get a G clamp that will compress the piston and then turn a bit, tighten the G clamp and turn again, etc, etc, etc, takes less time than it takes to tell. HTH Ray

When you've got it back together, DON'T pull the hand brake untill you've pumped the piston out with the pedal!

I did this, what do i need to do to get back to square one?

Wind them in and use foot brake pressure to push them out?

Why should you NOT use the handbrake before pumping them out with the foot brake?

If you pull the hand brake without pumping the pads out then the lever over-throws and the adjuster disconects internally and no longer works!

Wind it back and try again,you could be lucky and get away with it but it may be fubah! Sorry.
