Sierra Steering lock

My Sierra column does not lock. Were they all fitted with steering lock? If so what's likely to be wrong here?

Could be the barrel sticking not allowing the plunger to come forward and engage the lock.

If you need a new barrel the CD132 (2000~2007) Mondeo one fits. Get one from the scrap yard.

If you have changed the steering wheel you may not be able to lock steering.

Steering wheels have nothing to do with the lock.....

erm....yes they do. they have everything to do with it.

the lock works by engaging a steel bit in the back of the steering wheel. most aftermarket bosses don't have a high enough quality of casting to give it anything to engage on, so if you've gone away from a standard steering wheel..........

OK It's not an original wheel, so given that I have an key ignition do I need any more security for SVA?

Ah, sorry, i was in Mondeo mood.. The bolt engages a lock coller on the shaft rather than the back off the wheel.
