Front caliper alternatives..

I'm thinking about front calipers, and dont want the expense of wilwood replacements, nor do I want the dead weight of the sierra calipers..

Are there any modern'ish OE calipers that are a close enough fit to work on a Sierra upright with a std sierra soldi disc.?

I cant answer your question but I will encourage you to re-consider not buying some new calipers!

Willwood do some cheap calipers which are only about 90 quid from rally designs including VAT. Got to be worth that kind of investment?

I used the dynalite single calipers (on mx5 uprights). Those calipers are 1.4lbs weight each (!) and cost about £60 apiece. Operation is excellent

Hi,

I know what you mean, I was just wondering if anyone had tried others, I know some people are using vw golf rear alloy hand brake calipers, mountings only out by 1 or 2mm..

Maybe some exist somewhere for the front..

Raldes have a nice kit for a Sierra donor at £200 for powerlites, I'm assuming thats a pair !? What exactly comes in the 'kit' two calipers+mounts, discs, + pads?

This is the exact same thing i was looking at. I am going to fit bigger wheels, so i don't mine if the calipers stick out a little.

Was looking at either fitting bigger disks and using the original calipers spaced off, or better calipers, or both.

i keep watching fleabay

I'm using Puma calipers. Just need a spacer washer machining to make them fit. The discs are alot lighter than the Sierra. Not sure if the calipers are though.
