could any on tell me if theres a limit / min amount to the amount of steering joints you can use between the rack and the steering wheel please
im using two but will have a collapsable columb and boss
im using a sierra colapsable columb but dont know how many joints i could use (for the sva man ) thanks
Like everything else engineering wise,...the less that can achieve the required end result the better. Legislation wise however I don't know. I
do know though that an obtuse joint is a plus in the event of a frontal impact.Less chance of the steering wheel impaling into your chest!
Normally there is two UJ's. All of the steering columns we currently make at my work have two.
Any more than that and you will need a bearing support.
Due the exhaust and brake parts i'm planning 3 and a rubber disk at the steeringrack
I've got 4
