I was intending fitting a Sierra steering column to my car,It did have the Escort column so I split that at the first joint,I noticed the Escort does
in fact have a spline at the universal joint where as the Sierra has a triangle like shape,How do I get around this,do I have to buy a complete Sierra
column,at the moment I only have the top piece,I.E wheel, stalks and the adjustment arm etc down where I believe it would connect onto another UV joint
??
Any advice would be appreciated
I also have a mark 2 Escort quick rack and I was hoping to keep this but would ideally like to use the sierra column !!
Sierra column and down link will mate to Escort rack as long as the column is not for power steering. Have a look round for a down link to your column.
How could I tell if the column was used on power steering, all I can see at the minute is a spline on the existing Escort column and a triangular bit
box section on the Sierra column,Is it possable to change the UJ to make them compatable ??
Cheers
