Sierra compatible steering wheel
John Bonnett - 14/11/07 at 06:03 PM

Once again, I should be very grateful for your help.

For SVA, I've fitted a Sierra steering wheel to the Phoenix. It's a large wheel and the Tester might say that it is masking the speedo.

Is there a slightly smaller Ford wheel that will fit the Sierra column should this be necessary?

Look forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much

John

Possibly the later Fiesta steering wheel?

The (yet to be released) new fiesta has a different fitting to the sierra. They are both 6 sided tapers but the new one is a much steeper taper. I don't know how many of the older fiestas are the same.

If i where you, i would keep the bigger steering wheel on, for SVA test as it has a larger radius. so therefore anything within that radius will not be bothered with by the dreaded sphere.

I used one from a MK3 escort possible an xr3, but think that the fiestas of the same era used the same taper hexagon type fitting .

Thanks to all of you for your replies. I'll keep the Sierra whheel on for the test and see what they say.

Best regards

John
