Help with Pedal Box Problem
muzchap - 19/12/07 at 11:59 PM

Hi Guys,

Ok - I've moved away from my brake bias bar situation and installed a single master cylinder.

Now, my old master cylinders had a threaded bar coming out that connected to the pedal. However, I now have a master cylinder that has a push in rod that nests in.

There is now nothing stopping the clutch/brake pedals falling forwards and landing on the floor!

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Its a Luego Velocity Pedal Box with hydraulic clutch/brake

I've thought about springs then dismissed it - I then thought about some kind of restraining bar... dunno really - interested to canvas popular opinion

Cheers.

Murray

as long as you can still press the pedal on the right, You'll be just fine!

Thanks Mark

I think that's what they mean with left foot braking - flick the pedal up with the left and stamp on it with the right!

MK pedals have a tab welded on the brake pedal for an m6 bolt to go through to give a solid stop onto the floor.

it's not one of those things you want to be able to shuffle slightly and drop out

i've posted a picture of the mk pedals many a time, but it's on the desktop at home. have a search for my name and pedals or MK pedals or something

You need to engineer a proper pedal stop.
There has to be NO CHANCE of the brake push rod popping out of place!

Thanks Indykid

Hi Bob C - Indeed that's my biggest worry....

I might put a cage around the pedal like in IndyKids photo.

Cheers,
