When making up my bottom front wishbones should I squash the pipes to close off the ends where the ball joint bolts on or what is the best way?????

I assmue you're following Ron's book design, that uses squashed tubes but there has been much discussion on here about alternate/improved designs. Have a look around.

After looking at a few designs I came up with a variation of my own, some pics here

Let me know if you want any more info about my ones, but note I am not an engineer and they may be crap! (disclaimer over)

I made a jig which hold the treaded tube and "bracket-tube" at the exact place.
The two long tubes can be attached "some-where" then.

The bracket-tubes will try to go to each other due the V-shape.
