I'm looking for a Striker at the moment. It's got a live rear axle. How can you identify what diff is inside? I know you can lift the rear
and spin a tire and see what the other one does. This to check if it's an open diff or a LSD. But how do you check for a Quaife diff? It has a
preload right? So both wheels should spin the same way so how can you identify if it has a clutch-type diff or a Quaife/Torsen?
Can someone with a Quaife diff do this test to see if both wheels turn the same way?
Just because both wheels spin the same way does not mean it is lsd, I got court out like this.
With an open diff the wheels spin the opposite way. This is a fact. How can you state this is false?
Knacked planet gears, both spin the same way, thats how.
Yea if it's broken LOL
Anyway back to topic. Is there some way to check if it's a LSD or Quife from the outside?
