Lobro driveshaft washers

Having done a quick search I know the general consensus is just to use individual spring washers; but can anyone confirm if the washers that link 2 bolts together on Sierra lobro driveshafts are still available from Ford?

If not does anyone know of an alternative supplier?

your the first person I know who's every considered using them, I'd use loctite

Agreed, Loctite is much easier and works well.

you'll also find that Ford themselves went to using a blue plastic compound on these and the brake caliper threads.

Locking tabs are very much outdated with the advent of the modern locking compunds.

Just use the correct grade of loctite & all will be fine.

LOL - I spent ages cleaning mine up and spraying them as well

WHICH caused them to come undone - as I only tightened them onto the paint, once that wore through one shaft came loose!

Loctite and these things now - I'm super secure

They are not locktabs, firstly

Secondly DON'T, whatever you do, use SPRING WASHERS!!!!!!

they willd efinitely come loose then!

You don't need any washers at all, just carefully clean the threads in solvent, both bolts and holes, then loctite them and torque them up to the requisite torque.

I have never had one come loose yet (famous last words)

The ones that I have seen that have were either not clean to start with, had dirt between the mating faces or had used washers of some sort.

Edit, I see Muzchap says much the same!
