I just tried to fit my cossie rear discs and calipers to my MK, using the disc conversion brackets supplied by MK. Much to my disappointment, they didnt fit. The cossie discs were too large.

Now, is it possible to use the the standard solid discs (254 mm or so) with the cossie calipers, or do they only work with the 270mm(or so) discs?

In the last case, I would have to have get some new brackets. I dont think going down one discs size would make any difference, as the setup i quite powerful as it is.

in a way I'm glad they don't fit as that thing might just lock up and fly off the road, you can have too much brakes, especially at the rear of a 7. Going back to my buggy, I stuggle to even pass the brake test for an MOT as there is so little weight at the front it just skids on the brake test machine and barely give a reading, and that's with drums , I usually have to resort to dirty tricks like shoving bags of sand under the bonnet and lowering the tyre pressure. How much weight is there at the back of your car?

The MK conversion kit is for the standard rear disc setup 254mm,but if your caliper is off a 2wd cosworth,then they are the same as all other sierra's,so if you get the correct disc's you should be ok.
If however you have the 4x4 sierra cosworth disc and caliper,then they won't fit as you will have a vented disc,and different caliper to suit,I am sure with a bit of fabrication you could get them to fit,but on a bike engined Indy it would be way overkill.

there are only 2 types of caliper on all the sierra's, cossie's and granada's

1 - solid disc type
2 - vented disc type

the brackets (/ hubcarriers) make alloance for the different disc sizes

so just get a set of 254mm discs (2.0 ABS, XR4x4, etc....) and soild disc type calipers if you haven't already got them

if your lucky the place you got your cossie discs from might even refund / swap them for you (like when I swaped my 4 stud discs for 5 stud )

Thanks. I know the calipers i have are for the solid discs, so I will try and swap my the large ones (80£ from MK) to the small ones..available for 26£ on the internet

First time I am actually saving money on the build...usually when something doesnt fit, it ends up costing money
