whats the gap I could turn some spacers up
i have got a set of sierra hubs and have found that the front discs and brake calipers from my mk2 mondeo fit straight on although there is a gap
between the caliper and the mount, is it safe to make up a spacer that runs from one mount to the other and then put slightly longer bolts in (to the
same strength).
also has anyone ever tried mondeo rear calipers mounted to mondeo front hubs?

My first thought is that you might be overbraked on the rear. Putting spacers on the caliper mounts is ok but try and spread the load as much as possible - ie not just on some thick washers but on a 'proper' machined spacer. Have you got any pics?
I turned up some 5mm thick spacers for mine (Granada discs on Sierra uprights)
the spacer diamiter is the full size of the lugs / caliper mounting face
of course I haven't actually tried them yet
btw - Sierra's & Granada's use Grade 10.9 for the caliper mounts

thats exactly what ive got in mind. make the spacers the same shape as the mount so the load is spread better.

front mondeo calipers and rear mondeo calipers, not front calipers on the rear

just to keep you informed, i have now bolted the mondeo discs to the sierra hubs and mounted the calipers. i have contacted big-wasa to make the
spacers up. so far from what i can tell they are going to fit with no problem at all. i will post an update when they are finished.
should be a cheaper alternative than aftermarket sets.
Tip most Mondeos have pressure reducing valves for the rear brakes that screw directly into the master cylinder outlets -- get these too (chop the pipes so you can salvage the pipe fittings).
