Does anyone know where I can get some wheel studs to fit Sierra hubs. M12 x 1.5 thread but about 55mm long in total. I`ve bought some studs that are 63mm long but these are too long and the standard 47mm are too short. I need something in the middle, or should I take the angle grinder and chop some off the 63`s?! Any help where to source appreciated. I need 16 of them.

Angry grinder to the rescue! By the time you pay postage etc, you may as well just use the ones you have.

I had just the same problem mate. After much measuring and deliberating I bought 63 mm as I couldn't get closer.
I lathed the ends off to shorten mine and nearly broke the lathe in the process as they'r made of good stuff
So angry grinder with a cutting wheel may be a better bet.

Screw an on ordinary nut or better a hex die nut (ie a non-split die) on before you cut. An HSS hack saw blade should be the tool to use, but if stud is too hard use a cutting disc. Then clean up with a flap wheel or hand file and back nut/die nut off to clear threads.

I used a hack saw, I found it was nice and accurate. As BritishTrident says.

Takes a while but well worth it. I also dipped the exposed ends in some plastikote spray paint that I sprayed into the cap (so I could dip the studs)
