well ive decided to go for IRS and ive got chris's book im just wondering cause my chassis is narrower than the haynes roadster, do i need to shorten my driveshafts or can i get away with it?

also i have to rebuild the back end of my chassis from seat back, back so that i can mount the diff etc, any advice?

daft question - which way does your top shock mount allow the shock to swing?

if its front / back you'll have to change that, if its left / right you're ok.

ron champion book spec chasis without any mounts (yet)

I personally would do it by keeping the drive shafts the same length and moving the wishbone mounts so they are spaced to match the Roadster dimensions.

The handling will still change a little... roll centres and all that stuff I don't understand. But it's still better than changing the wishbone lengths IMO!

If you have a live axle already you won't gain that much by using anything else.

If you haven't got a live axle just go De Dion it is less complex and requires very few changes to the chassis.
