Does anyone have any idea what axle this is? I need to source bits and pieces for it, but im not sure what it is...

Any idea what the flange will be?

Could be a Mk1/2 Cortina, Corsair etc. The later solid ford axles, the diff wes removed from the rear not the front like this one.

Measure the half shaft wheel PCD nb without any adaptors

If it is 4 stud on 4" PCD with 3/8" wheel studs its BMC A series (nb not just fitted to cars with the A series engine). As already said this was pretty well standard fitting in most B Class Clubman cars.

if its 4.25" PCD it is probably Ford English (Timpkin Banjo) as fitted to Cortina MK1 or MK2 , Corsair, Escort , Ford Classic & Capri Classic, some Capris.


It could also be off say a Hillman Hunter or Marina or Toledo but much less likely

A couple of my friends found out I was selling it and "persuaded" me that it was a bad idea....


The plan now, rather than a full rebuild, is to just fit the new enging and check that the brakes etc work properly....Might just be able to afford that!
