Peugeot rim width info needed please
John Bonnett - 10/5/08 at 07:03 AM

Good Morning All

I want to make a Spacesaver spare and need a 4.5 or 5J 14 inch Peugeot 4 stud rim to fit a 145 80 14 tyre to.

I would be grateful if anyone can tell me what model of Peugeot to look out for at the scrap yard.

Thank you for your help.

John

Sorry havn't got an answer for you John, but where are you going to put it?

Watch out with Peugeot alloys (and Citroens) that the wheel has a centre hole. Some are solid and difficult to get balanced properly.

Hi Adrian

I'm going to put it in the boot area behind the seat if i can come up with a clamping arrangement that will avoid bolting down into the petrol tank!!

I'm not worried about balance because it will only be a get-you-home wheel mainly for Jim's Junket to france at the end of the month.

What about a genuine spacesaver spare? I write off 10 cars a week, will have to get one sooner or later

Thank you Mark. We are off to France at the end of the month but I would like to have a spare at least a week before we go so that I can make a clamp up.

Do you think it hopeful that you might come up with one at short notice?

Thanks for your help

John

I just done a search on our Peugeot Parts Fiche.

Peugeot 107 standard road wheel is 4.5 J14.

I might have 5 in next week or none this year, are you running peugeot or ford hubs?

Michael, thank you very much for the information. I'll scout around for a 107 wheel.

Mark. Sorry, it was damn fool question, of course you don't know what's coming in. I'm running Ford hubs and 1.9 205gti wheels which have the correct offset for the bodywork.

Thank you both

John

Thats what I thought, I have many more Ford BER's than Peugeot, so either a Ford or a Peugeot space saver would do?

Sad but true, now i have Broadband i can access our Pugs System at home.

I have just realised the stud pattern is wrong on the 107 as its a Japanese car!
