Good Ebay result !

Last Sunday I bid on , and won , a 4.11 diff for my Escort axle to help with the silly gearing
I sent a check on Monday , thinking by the time it clears and the diff gets sent it will be some time next week
It arrived today
So now I`m off out to the garage to fit it , and replace the rear wheel bearings - armed with ......
Some new discs for the angle grinder
A blowlamp
A tube of instant gasket
A bottle of suitable oil
And a large pile of spanners , sockets , a big hammer and a fully charged compressor

Just hope I`ve thought of everything

A pile of excuses for getting home late when grilled by the significant other??

I unfortunately said "bad traffic" the other day as a reflex response after a trip to / from the garage. My garage is 200m away from my home and I walk so not surprisingly it didn't work

Progress report time !
Got the drive shafts out ( and when I find who used locktight on the bearings .......oh , hang on , that was me )

Important thing missing from the list ? Knee pads , since I landed on the only bolt on the drive within the first minute

Mobile ? Not while I`m working

And......job done ! Both rear wheel bearings changed , new (to me) diff painted and fitted , and after a quick run to the chippy (for my dinner...) its tested as well !

It feels a lot better
If its dry tomorrow I'll give it a proper test !
