
will the internals from a power steering rack fit a non power steering rack?
i have stripped a power steering rack that is 2.5 lock to lock
wondered if ive wasted my time

All right I will admit it I haven't got a clue lol


Lose the PAS elements and build up the rack, this is a cheap way of getting a quick rack but will fail SVA, used to be used by rally cross boys,
especially for odd cars like 205 pugs etc.
Better to rebuild with all parts and get an electric PAS pump from a scrap SW20 MR2, 'A' class merc etc from Ebay and plumb in.
By controlling the motor speed you change the level of assistance 'the basis of speed sensitive PAS', this will pass SVA.
