Changing steering column height
hobzy - 17/7/08 at 01:40 PM

Is it much of an issue moving the steering wheel height? I assume as the column ends in a UJ then providing I dont go mad and there is room on whatever it has been attached to, it shouldnt be too hard/change anything else?

Gent I bought it off was a tad taller than me, just needs to come down about an inch to be comfy?

Look behind the dash, mk for my chassis had used two large flat er bits of metal so you had quite a bit of choice of the height, simply drill two new holes and move it down, in issues with the joints.

Hmm a response time of 4 minutes, sorry getting a bit slow there must be been the view

That’s right once more I have mentioned the girls in the office

Brilliant - thats what I thought when I had a good look last night. Ta...

Its a big leap for me from fitting nice shiny new bits to my previous car and fettling this one - bit nervous about doing anything! Mind you, that was the purpose behind getting it really I suppose Thank goodness you lot are here!

You have picked the right kind off car to fiddle with, you can make it suit you perfectly rather than put up with a mass produced compromise

Mines got a handle on the side that allows you to move the column up and down AND in and out which suprises me. There are also slots on the chassis mounting to allow initial up and down setting up.

Its off a K reg 1.6 Sierra Azure.

Any pictures of the office girls yet Whippy???
