Transit top swivel nut thread
BenB - 18/8/08 at 06:11 PM

Does anyone know what thread the retaining nut on the transit swivel is (ie not the lock nut on the main threaded part but the nylock nut on the tapered bit)....

I'm planning my tracking setup and want to get some plain nuts to use before finally locking everything it place with the nylock...

Thanks in advance!

It varies depending on which make joint you get.

Annoying but true.

I think most are UNF, but have come across some metric ones too.

Helpful, lol

Just use the nyloc, will be fine if only removed once as long as the nut is torqued up properly when refitted.

What you really want is some quick camber adjusters like the GTS

True!! I suppose there's no reason for them to be standardised!! Pants.... Looks like it's time to get out the tapes and die set and see what fits!!

Measure it with a vernier, will give you a good indication of whether its metric or imperial at least

Very true.... I don't normally work to such precise levels of accuracy but perhaps this time I'll make an exception...
