MX5 diff casings?

Does any body know if all mk1+2 MX5 front and rear diff casings are the same? Also is there any difference in size or shape between the open and viscous LSD types?

Phil, I think www.Miata.net is probably the most detalled source of MX5 info you will find. I don't know the answer to the question though!

Early diffs are smaller - change came in 1994 I think. The mountings on the subframes are the same and I believe the power plant frame is the same.
Driveshafts I know are different - later ones are slightly shorter as the diff is slightly bigger maybe propshaft too.

The mk1 1.6 diff is smaller than the mk1 1.8 and all mk2/2.5.

Out standing guys thanks. Looks like I'll have to do some shopping for one of each type for what I have in mind.
