Fury Wheel Size Change
Just want some opinions after doing some searching and reading, I have a fury blade with freelander diff currently running, 15x7 ET37 OZ superleggera
on 195/50/15 with 25mm spacers all round.
Now in the interest of a more track orientated car I want to change the setup to 13x6 front with 195/60/13 tyres and 13x7 rear with 205x60x13 rear
with ET 23 all round and retaining the 25mm spacers.
I believe this will improve my handing and the rotating mass improvements, do other people agree with my thinkings before I buy some new wheels?
Cheers

ET37 with a 25mm scacer is effectivly ET12.If you switch to 6" wide ET23 rims then the outer edge of the wheel will be about 1" further
in.
13" will be better but I'd aim for ET18 ish as thats what Jeremy designed it for.
EAOE as that's all done in my head.

So am I right that by your thinking i need to keep a large offest wheel to keep close to 18 or a wheel with and offset of 18?
Also I am a bit confused in the offset being 12, if the spacer moves the wheel positively away from the hub then, will this not increase the offset in
relation to the axel hub? I was under the impression that offset was taken as a line in the center of the wheel so a spacer is irrelavent? If the
wheel mounting faces at the center it would be an offset of 0 and if the wheel mounting face was closer to the axel hub would give you a positive
offset and visa versa?
Correct me if I am wrong, are you saying it was designed to have an offset of 18 if bolted direct to the axel hub with no spacer?
Thanks fro the reply!

Based on your offsets and widths I think the fronts would be near enough the same if keeping the 25mm spacers or within 1 or 2mm and the back ones
will stick approx half an inch further out.
If this is all down to weight saving though and it's benefits choose your 13" replacements carefully as very few will be lighter than your
existing 15 x7 superleggeras at under 5kg each unless you got split rims with magnesium like MB rims. Eg compo cxr's are actually heavier in
13".

If you are changing the rims then you want shot of the spacers so ET12 would be correct if you where using the same rim size. As you are going from
7J to 6J on the front the outer edge would be 12.5mm further in than the 7J so I would suggest ET23 on the front and ET12 on the rear to maintain the
outer rim position.
The other thing to note is there is no performance 195/60 13 I'm aware of. The common sizes are 185/60 and 205/60. The big advantage is that
tyres will be cheaper

Off set is the measurement from the mounting face, to the centre of the wheel, so assuming the spacer is smaller then the offset, it reduces it.

Thanks you've raised some good points as I was thinking I wanted rid of the spacers as they aren't hubcentric anyway.
Also cheap Is good!

I have switched to 185 all round, from 185/205 simply down to cost and the premium on the larger tyre, depends what your use is obviously, but I find
the 185's perfectly acceptable for fast road use anc autotesting.

Thanks Daniel, I will be split between both road and track so will see what the tyre temps look like when out but with the light engine I would say
should be find.
One last question any Fury owners running ET23 on the front without a spacer, just Steve from furysprotscar said the tyres may touch the front of the
chassis? Any one had that experience?
Thanks for everyone's comments!

I've got 13" 6.5j ET18 rims on the front fitted with 185/60/13 and they don't touch on lock.
With 13" 6j ET23 rims you should just clear, as theoretically the inner rim edge would be in almost the same position as mine. (5mm further in
on the centre line but 6.5mm narrower from centre to rim). If anything you should have fractionally more clearance, if everything else is the same.
I did have 15" 7j ET35 on at first (for SVA) and they touched the chassis on full lock, so had to fit stops to my rack to prevent it. Changed
soon after to 13" and removed the stops.

Thanks for your help I will be looking soon as for new wheels then and getting rid of the old ones!
