Fuel tank issues...

Evenig all.

I am fitting an aluminium fuel tank to my car, and Iwas wondering if there is any requirement to have it connected to the chassis electrically (i.e. connected to the battery -ve terminal). My intention is to hold the tank down with an aluminim strap, but to also hold the tank in place with sikaflex (PU sealant). The tank sits on an ally floor panel, so this will efectively isolate it from the chassis.

I'm doing this to try and minimise rattles, and fretting of the tank in case it vibrates against the ally floor. BUt I'm wondeirng if it will need connecting to the car's earth?

Cheers
Andy
