Urgent - Brake Torque Settings Renault

Long story, need urgent help, need to know the torque settings for the bolts that hold the caliper onto the upright for a .....

Renault Laguna 2001 reg 1.9dci
(also, anyone any idea if the 1.9 uses the 280mm or 300mm disks)

(before someone asks, can't measure the disks just yet and need to buy replacements)

If you can find a friendly Renault specialist or dealer, that s probably your best option. I have had good advice on weird tech stuff from the local Mazda dealer about servicing an RX7.

Hope you have some luck,

Ed

Till they're tight. I have never used a torque wrench on a caliper bolt and have never had a failure.

I rarely use torque wrenches on the either. do em up tight. but not so tight they shear off.

Just so you know. Autodata says 100nm.

I guess the bolt is M12 Mike??

If so, they want to be 60 to 70 NM

Caliper torque.

I keep going till my elbow cracks.. I can ask at the parts shop for the disk size tomorrow if you still need to find out.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

thanks but figured it out via brakeparts.co.uk.

Its just a guy at work who's decided he'd rather do his brakes himself than pay someone. Personally, i think he should pay someone but he won't listen.

Aaaah, figured out the disk size, not the torque. Got a message to him saying 100 ft lbs (or was it NM?) and then couldn't contact him after that.

If he doesn't make it in on Monday i know either the brakes fell off or he sheered a bolt
