Rover 400 Header Tank

Does anyone know what the pressure rating is for the cap on a Rover 400 Header Tank?

I have autodata 1959-2004 full data disks, a 1995 1.6 R400 is 0.9-1.2 bar, anything more specific, drop me a line

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

yep can confirm nominal is 1 bar --- took a bit of digging to find that in RAVE.

The caps on Rover expansion tanks can give trouble with not venting properly

How can you check that it's venting properly?

Two different styles of cap used by Rover later nes are BMW pattern but usually on theearly ones there is a little hole in the top that is the vacumn release vent -- worth clearing out and checking the vavle thing below it is free.

Mainly gives problems on cars/engines where the coolant changes haven't been done or have been otherwise neglected.
