Book Suspension Basics

1 dumb question.
the suspension as laid out here I assume uses the sierra spindles, or is this setup for the escort?

Living in canada, we don't exactly have the same cars and parts as you do in the UK.

Now my intention is to use a zetec engine for motivation, but it the Mazda rx7 a decent donor for suspenson bits? I like the big brakes on the RX7 turbo, so thought I'd simplify things by starting with its bits.
anyone have the modified drawings?

I think your question is this: Does anyone have an RX-7 based suspension design they wish to share?

Did you try the NA yahoo locost group? There are some folks using the RX-7 donor over there. Also, why do you want big brakes? They will add unsprung weight and aren't really needed with such a light car.

Hi

I thought the book refered to cortina uprights.

I remember a thread that said that the Hyundi Stella was a rebodied ford cortina. these were available in north america so there may be a source of cheap parts you can use.

i may be wrong but you could check the thread which was about 2 - 6 weeks ago.

hope this helps

ugh Hundi is a dirty word around here.

I've been searching for some decent books on suspension, but all the ones that many refer to are not avaliable, even on special order, around here.
oh well, I believe I have enough info to haywire a basic design together and run the numbers through a suspension analysys program tosee what needs to be changed.
