Cortina Uprights
Hi all.
My cortina uprights, calipers etc came today, but one of the backplates is fairly badly rusted. anyone got any ideas where I can get a replacement
from? Rest of the gear seems fine but I won\'t know until I get them stripped down. Paid £50 for the pair which I thought was quite reasonable
considering there scarity.

Ditch them both, most people dont fit them.
£50, fair price like you say these days.

Cortina Uprights
What do you mean by backplates? My uprights are bare castings with the calipers attached and bare discs. If the backplates are watershieds you
don't need then.

Scrappy up north somewhere. Cost £24 P+P but they came as 2 seperate HEAVY! parcels. Pretty sure I got the details off here somewhere.
Don't know exactly what condition the rest of the bits are in, but just as well fitting new bearings and seal kits/pads anyway.

You got a bargain mate. I expect these will make well over 50 quid excluding postage!!
Ebay linky.
Worth reconditioning them IMO.

To make you feel even more upset, look what I got for 40quid, in this condition with brand new bearings and strong caliper bolts. (Admitadly without
calipers)

I was quite lucky with those. I wouldn't suppose they would take too long to clean up though. Unlike those b***dy axles. I hate gearbox oil!

Never known anything stink for as long!! Wish my cheap after shave would last as bloody long. I reckon they put some extra smelly stuff in there so
the mechanics know which end of the car the leak is coming from!!
