spring length?

ive got 14"/10" shocks, what length of springs should i buy? also does 180 rear and 250 front sound about right for a pinto engined car.

It is very hard to give firm advice, as there so many varibles that ultimately affect the final choice. However, (depending on weight over the axle and front geometry) I would suggest that 275-300 might be better for the front.

On the rear, what type suspension are you using? As a general rule, a live axle or de-dion rear end will run on lighter poundage springs when compared to an IRS system. As an example, live axled Westfields have been known to run less than 100 on the rear to good effect.

For spring lengths, the starting point is the distance measured between the spring holders when the shock is fully extended, and the adjustable platform is fully wound 'off'. This *should* ensure that the springs can never become unseated on full suspension deflection. However, if you are buying (or have bought) some shockers off a reputable source, they should be able to advise further on the lengths that will suit for your application.
