steering lock
Anyone know how to remove / disable the steering lock part off a sierra column?
I need to do this for next years sprint and hillclimb season, plus the lock only works one way at the moment??
P.S dont say crowbar through the steering wheel

Hope some1's handyer with the Haynes than me and can give you a proper answer lol.
Try with the key in a few positions am sure it'll make sence eventually!

Put the key in, turn to acc, press in the little button on the side and pull the key and the whole lot comes out
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

As a matter of interest, why? I know of plenty of sprint/hillclimb cars still fitted with steering locks...
Dont just build it.....make it!

It is just a small stud at about 11 OClock viewed from the end, a ballpoint pen is enough pressure to release

That's to remove the barrel, not disable the steering lock. I've hacksawed all the lot off mine for the time being as I didn't have
a key.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
