Protech coilovers

I was going to get a set of coilovers from GTS, mainly because his description fits my car exactly with regard to lengths, spring rates & eye end hole sizes, but having read all the posts on here about GTS, I've been frightened off.

My second choise is protech, but all the suppliers like MNR, MK etc just say that a set including springs cost £Xx. there is no mention of lengths, spring rates or hole sizes, Do these suppliers actually build up what you need or do they just supply a stock product.
I dont really know what I need, the lengths I can get from the GTS web site, what is the hole size on protechs, 1/2" or 12mm,my ST chassis has 1/2", & what spring rates do I need front & rear & can the likes of MNR supply these.

My build is now stopped untill I get these & I dont want to buy the wrong things

book ST chassis, live axle with 1300 Xflow

thanks all, happy new year

Can't you just go directly to Protech??

Their website kinda' implies that they sell direct to the public.

Seems like the safest way of getting exactly what you want.

Cheers

Yep - Protech and Gaz will sell direct and make up any size you like with any spring rate for about the same money that MK and MNR etc. sell them at.

Send them an email.

For spring rates it is usually accepted that 275 lbs are ok on front and 160lb on the back as a starting point with a car engine.
My car is crossflow powered and I have these rates on it.The back seems a little soft if im carrying a passenger but may be due to soft damping . My damper lengths are 8x12 on the front and 9 x13 on the back. Most dampers seem to use 1/2 inch fixings.
