Tracking Gauges - How do they work?!
Evening All,
Just out of interest does anyone in Locost Land know how the Dunlop style tracking gauges work? Mainly want to understand how they compensate for
different wheel track widths to give you an angle reading? I presume as well that they are not capable of showing which wheel is out?

Right angles and line of sight.
Simple really, stand directly in front of a mirror and you see yourself in the middle irrespective to how far away you are from the mirror, same
principle.
You have a sight gauge with crosswires and a mirror, if you are exactly opposite the lines marry, all you are measuring the number of degrees from
parrellel that you are, the sight gauge sits on a protractor which you zero before you start. When you place the gauge in front of the wheels and
touch the rims you twist the the site to match the cross wires and read off the degrees.
