Dead Calipers?

I'm in the process of refurbing my calipers. My XR4x4 rears seem in good condition (one looks almost new), they came appart easily and are now cleaned up nicely.

Up front I planned on using my donor calipers (Standard 2.0l sierra), however, I'm unsure if they are fooked or not......I can't get the piston to budge, I tried using an air line to force them out to no avail. Also if I shake them there is a distinct rattle/sloshy sound, as if there is lots of rust and brake fluid inside and the bleed nipple hole on one is blocked.

A refurb kit (just the rubber bits) would be £12 each whereas my local motorfactors want £26 ex vat each for new calipers.

Basically, are they fooked and if so, do we think £26 is a good price for new ones?

I probably will, just wanted to make sure they are dead before spending the extra. I don't mind taking time and effort refurbing them if it saves me some money
