I ain't seen the ones from Spiresports but I've a feeling I know what you're talking about. You don't modify the upright as such you just insert a mushroom adaptor in the hole where the original strut would've been. Be that an offset or central type mushroom. Your Cortina bottom ball joint will be fine with the Sierra upright but depends on what bottom wishbone you use. For instance if you go by the book then its fine but if you use a GTS bottom bone then that will only accept the Austin Maxi joint. It depends how the wishbone is designed.

If you make both your wishbones to book dimensions then Sierra uprights won't work.... as Mr Grumpy should be able to tell you IIRC!

And as for adjusting camber.... that's done by winding the top or bottom balljoint into the top wishbone.

If you mean castor.... then this is a common misconception, not aided by an article in one of the kit car mags. It's actually King pin inclination that is changed by the mushroom.

Castor is changed by moving the relative postions of the balljoints.

Or so I belive based on what I've picked up from other people on here who *do* understand suspension design- unlike me!

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
James

Ooh poo yeah! Don't use Sierra uprights with book wishbones. Cost me a lot to realise that. Christ, cheers James. That much bad luck lately that I forgot about that one. You really need Sierra width bones for Sierra uprights or Cortina uprights for book bones. Unless you can re jig the book bones to suit your predicament.
How the hell did I forget about that. My most expensive mistake so far
