wheel studs

Hi guys,
very quick question- my wheel studs are far too long for my new wheels and nuts- (closed end type nuts)

is it ok to cut them shorter?

I don't see why nut. (sic) But measure very carefully then measure again as you don't want to overdo it. You can always fit open ended nuts but these may bot be suitable for your wheel. A rule of thumb is that you must have threaded part at least 1.5 x diameter.

I am pretty sure I cut mine down - need standard length but noone seems to sell them, only extended ones; I had to slim down the shank and extend the thread too.
