panhard rod

put my back wheels on,only ones i have and let the car down on the ground, the rear axle is over to one side by about 10mm.
it looks like the panhard rod is 10mm too short.
whats the easiest way of lengthening it,dont really fancy putting a big nut n bolt down the middle except as a last resort, any ideas?

Cut off one eye at the end and weld in a long threaded insert and use a rose joint ?????

just thought, mine is adjustable.Cut the end of say two inches long and weld a nut and bolt, for adjustment. My axle links are adjustable too.You probably dont fancy this alteration.Make another rod!Three options take your choice

I know this will hurt, but I would make a new Panhard. If you think of the tremendous stress the rod and associated bracketry take in my humble opinion, it would not be worth risking weakening by joining a piece on.

Male rosejoint into a threaded insert like Pat said. Mine has 12mm ones in but all I did was round a nut off and knock it into the end of the panhard rod then weld round it. If it's 10mm t0 one side you only want half of that don't you

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Watch out for making a typical book mistake -

Would that actually be 5mm too short?

Andrew
