Ally hub TAS-1189 Trans Auto Sport, what is it?

Hi there,

I have a pair of aluminium hubs which came with a set of bits. I want to use them as they look nice, and as I don't know what they are I can't sell them!

It has a marking TAS-1189, but trans auto sport went into liquidation. Anyone know what this is a replacement for?

The oil seal at the back will have an o.d. of 60mm.

I am guessing I need the bearing for a Capri (not 3litre) which is the same bearing as RS2000, and later Cortinas.

So a QWB114c

Any thoughts appreciated.

Oh yes, I want to fit this to a capri upright.

It seems that no-one cares (and why should they?)

But

The part is actually TAS-1190 and it is the same as a Capri and RS2000, and does need the QWB114c bearing.

I agree, its not very interesting, but it has taught me the benefits of the local spares place, and at least I have closure.

Perhaps no-one knows, hence the lack of replies!
