angle of bones
i put my p&j on the floor, she is very low tho,2 1/2 " under the sump and 4" under the front X member.
thats with the rack and bottom bones parallel to the ground.
if i raise the front up to get clearance the bones will point downwards, the rack can be lowered to get the side rods parallel again, will this upset
handling or should i get an even shorter sump?

4" front and 5" rear is about normal isn't it?
It's just your engine's a bit low!
If you lower the rack, it'll affect bump steer.
Cheers,
James
EDIT: Bigger tyres???

I agree - moving your rack might affect bump steer.
Also lifting the chassis will raise the roll centre which might or might not be a bad thing - you will most probably get many opinions on this.
I would leave things as they are just lifting the whole car to give 3" clearance under the sump when loaded with driver and fuel and then drive
the car for a while before deciding what needs doing.
If you aren't happy with looks and handling after a good test drive period start a proper process to sort the handling, steering and ground
clearance problems you are unhappy about.

MInes the same. With the bones parallel to the ground the sumps about 20mm from the floor.

My front bones are horizontal at the mo, got about 2.5-3" to the bottom of the sump and about 4" to the chassis. am going to lift it an
inch, just for my sumps saftey!

Just took the crossflow out of mine today and have put the Zetec in place to see how it fits.I have 5.5 inches under the chassius rails and the sump
has 4 inches clearance with the wishbones level as it was with the crossflow.I chopped an inch off of an escort sump which makes it roughly 145mm
deep..
I now have to work out how to make the nosecone fit as the front of the cam cover is about 1.5 inches to high to fit under the lowline nose cone that
I have.
Im thinking of cutting a section out and makeing a new bonnet with a scoop that extends forward over the nosecone, im going to measure up tommorow and
decide.
