Help! drive shaft's boots and covers. There trying to rip me off!!
Posted the other day regarding obtaining Sierra drive shaft boot kit including metal covers for slide in type driveshafts (drum brakes). Does anyone
know of any motor factor that supplies the boots and metal covers? Or is it a main dealer job? As I went to my local Ford dealer today and was quoted
£42+vat per joint. Thats £197 for four boots and metal covers. Needless to say Parts stayed at garage and wallet stayed in pocket. Contacted local
driveshaft company who can recondition completely for £75 not too bad I thought. How much to shorten them while you are at it. Plus 150 quid each
shaft he said they have to be friction welded. Lol I should have been a friction welder!!!!!!!! Have people been trying to rip me off today? Should I
have parked my FERRARI out of sight? IS it national rip off a Locost builder day?

You can buy recon shafts for about £40 each, why buy the joints?
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Who does them for 40 quid? I only want the boots but need the metal covers as it seems they have to be destroyed in removing them unless you are
careful.

Sierra CV boots inc metal covers
Hi I have 4 on the shelf as spares for my grasser, I can get them from the local factors, not sure on price but definitely less than a tenner a boot,
will happily get you some as long as you pay postage!!
Thats just the cv boot and metal ring for six bolts (not the joint as well)

I think he's got the OTHER type of shaft, you know NOT bolt on but push in.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.
