Any advice on the above.

How to or anyone who can do it.

Cut, sleve then weld. Not sure I would recomend doing this yourself unless your a good welder, others will be along soon to show you how..

Would be worth giving RAW a call as shortened sierra shafts are used on the striker. These are supplied on an exchange basis. I'm sure they could supply them to the length you need, at what cost I don't know.
