Tyres

Hi All,

I am going to get some R888's for the Tiger but was told or maybe read on hear that they come up wider than suggested ie: 185 is more like 195. I had a look on the Toyo website and it said the 185 is actually 188, so not much different.

I decided to measure my tyres this morning, they are 185x60x14, the Tyfoon crap that came with the car, never even heard of them. Now these measured in at 195 however they are clearly 185x60x14.

Is this normal for there to be that much difference, it is just that there is not allot of room under my cycle wings.

D

I have tyres that according to the sizes on the side are identical, there not. Each manufacturer seems to measure them differently, a bit like shoes

yep; side wall numbers bear little resemblence to a measuring tape; so yes, it does vary.

e.g. my 195 measure 208 mm
and my old 185 measured 188 mm
