Suspension Coil Spring rates?
My car uses cut down Escort struts to make a double wishbone sort of set-up and has 2.25" KONI coil-over shocks. The engine that was in was a
1200cc Alfa unit that wieghed the same as a soggy Jaffa Cake and the engine that now holds the front down weighs the same as a Pinto. The shocks are
now sat 1/2" from the bump stops.
What springs are folks using with a Pinto sized engine?
Cheers, Owelly.

Weigh both front and rear of the car. Take the front weight in pounds and divide it by 2 then add any extras like your weight (divided by 2) and you
should get a rough idea of the spring you need.
Add 25-50 lbs for anti-dive and you can't be far out.
Repeat for the rear.
After that, driving it is the only way to check it works. Springs are only £30 a pair so you can buy new ones if necessary and sell the others on
ebay.
