Which way up
Which way up do the rear Sierra calipers go? Does the bleed nipple face down? Any pics would help
Also, with the pads in the caliper I cant get the unit to fit over the disc. Do I need to take out the pads before fitting?

The calipers can be mounted either way up depending on your brake hose and handbrake cable routing. Usually they are mounted on the front of the
upright with the nipple downwards but make sure you remove them for bleeding, turning them right side up.
If the pads are tight over the disc, try levering them apart gently with a piece of wood. Also check that the piston is fully wound in clockwise.

the nipple wants to be at the top, but if you have the hubs on the wrong way round ISTR it ends up upside down. Pads should be ok in the caliper, is
it fully retracted?
ok, its easier with the nipple at the top

bleed nipple up otherwise pain to bleed to get the air out of the top of caliper.

bleed nipple should always be on top for bleeding purposes like mentioned above.

I've got a 'Normal' Indy and it's bleed nipples down.
(N.B. as said before, to bleed I need to take them off the mounts and turn them arround)

May be being thick, but how can you have the bleed at the top, this would mean that the handbrake cable would be dragging on the road, or am I missing
something? Mine are fitted with the bleed's down, (take of to bleed), and the handbrake cable rising over the top wishbone. Ray

Mine are mounted bleed nipple down for ease of cable routing. When I bleed them, I unbolt the caliper and rotate it round the disc so the nipple is
at the top.

Hi paul as far as I know although dont know about the new chassis set up
all Indys Ive seen have the bleed nipple facing down.
its a known thing with indys

also you need to wind the caliper piston in with a good set of flat nose pliers or the original tool just enough to get your pads in
