you can go as low as 5.1 useing standerd ford parts but as above top speed suffers my gp 4 escort has a 4.6 to a 4 speed box on 13 inch wheels and
tops out at 96mph and thats with a 200bhp xe
gets there like f***n crazy tho lol

my engine was out an american ford van, so gearings probably not amazing for a car as light as the pickup's going to be.

picked up the axle last night. very nice its a 3.77 ratio from a 2ltr.
very pleased. whats the best way to clean it up for painting?
looks very little wear on the gears too

I tool mine into work and needle gunned it then wire brush in the drill.

i was considering sand blasting... didn't fancy getting grit in it though
what kind of paint did you use? been trying to think of what colour to do.

Answered your own question there I think. I used an anit corrosion primer matt black and then black gloss.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

i quite fancy making some kind of a feature of it (it will be seen faily easily from the back of the truck) it like it to be really smooth.

You could get it chromed. But you'd need to strip and rebuild it prolly.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

the cars going to be fairly noticeable considered a bright colour, yellow or something, maybe dayglo yellow... that or some other colour that
really contrasts to the body, whatever colour that ends up.
