De Dion Axle Too Small for Sierra Disc Brake Bolt in Shafts??

Hi folks,

I dont know if there is a modification or any other de dion axles for sale anywhere but the ends on my axle are too small. I have sierra disc brake bolt in driveshafts which wont fit through the ends of my de dion axle.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Matt

i made one and hade the same prob. you can change the ends of the drive shafts to the push in type that will fit the de dion.

As above, you could try changing the outer cv's to the push in type, although I'm not sure it is quite that straight forward.
The other option would be to either re-make the buckets and trailing arm brackets on the Dedion to suit, or sell it and buy another one that fits (give JRoberts a U2U on here for either of these options)

Thanks for the suggestions,

So if I got a pair of push in shafts, I would be able to swap the ends on them and then will they fit?

Cheers,
Matt

HI again,

Do they make de dion axles that fit the sierra rear disc brakes? Ive seen this one which is like mine but mine hasnt got the cut out - http://locost7.info/files/suspension/RortyDeDionAxleAssembly.pdf

This describes having disc brakes on it. Im just debating whether mine would fit if I cut away the wide tubing?

Fraid not, the cutaway won't alter the fact that the cv's are too big for the buckets.

Have a look here under dedion (surprisingly enough!)
