Cortina Uprights etc.
Hi Guys
What's the going rate for a full set of Cortina uprights, hubs and calipers in good condition?
I've just seen
this and made me wonder what to do with my set seeing as I probably won't be using them!

Wow... Looks like they can only increase in value. I have a set I got from Zilspeed that I have reconditioned with new bearings and nice pretty
paintwork. Wonder what they'd fetch on craz'e'bay!

Crazy
Especially when you can get a set of secondhand single seater, lightweight uprights for similar money! I know the geometry and wishbones will be all
different but nothing's insurmountable!

Have you noticed that there's a seller on ebay who keeps selling Left hand Cortina uprights on their own. At least half a dozen have been sold.
I wonder what he does with the right hand ones???

A set went for £185 a month or so back!! madness - it does seem to depend where they are listed on ebay though, I've picked up a couple of sets
for well under £40 from the classic parts listings recently - if people list them under 'kit car parts' people will seemingly pay really
stupid money for them though!

What mk Cortina are these suitable uprights off?
There's a Mk2 in my Dad's field waiting to be scrapped.

I guess the answer is to list them as Westfield (Cortina) parts!
Rob - I haven't decided whether to sell or not yet. I need to clean them up first (first go at electrolysis!). I haven't quite decided on
what uprights to use - I've got the single seater ones and I could then use the centre lock wheels off my single seater if I go down this route
(I can't drive them at the same time!). I need to start making decisions!

Mk2's were macpherson strut, it's the mk3/4/5 that have the correct uprights.
Cheers
Chris
Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!
