escort rack
I have a 1993 (mk5?) ford escort which i had to drive on the farm, its now a bit banged up and before i send it of the scrappie im gna strip it of
everything i can use!
My first query was has anyone used the steering rack out of one of these? bcus this would save me quite a bit of cash getting a new one. ( my bmw had
power steering and i dnt realli want that anymore)
Cheers

If I remember correctly this rack is behind the axle line wheras the locost is in front. The result will be the steering wheel will operate the wrong
way on the locost. I thinkthis will be an SVA fail as well as impossible to drive

Is that definately covered in the SVA manual
We should build a "take the piss" car that would pass SVA despite being dangerous....
I'm thinking steering back to front, accelarator pedal in the middle of the three pedals, Tesla coil on the back of the car, glowing red hot
headers down both sides and a 30mm cannon on the top of it Mr T style.
but of course no sharp edges

Im sure when i first started building mine i read a online blog on another site where you person had built his 7 using Mk5 Escort bits.
On pushing it out of the garage with his grandaughter steering she steered it into the garage doors as it was steering in the oposite direction.

haha thats brilliant! sorta thing you would check first realli, but surely if u used the escort front upright aswell it would work as the steering arm
would also be behind the axle, i probably would do this if it wernt for the ford ftiments being 4 stud and bmw 5
