Caddy Macpherson strut
I'm trying to flog my van and the MOT peeps have put an advisory warning on the certificate:
Nearside / Offside Front macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment.
Anyone know how much this is likely to cost to get fixed? (both sides)
Thanks in advance.

Euro Car Parts list them at about £6 (depending on the exacy model/year) so if you do the work yourself.......
To pay a garage I would expect to pay for a couple of hours work.

Half an hour of your time, some spring compressors and a top mount.
The part is £8.60 plus vat from euro apparently.

No problem around here, it won't be falling out.
As long the steering is ok you don't need to fix it.
Please feel free to correct my bad English, i'm still learning. Your Dutch is awfull! :-)

You don't have to give the buyer the advisory note just the M.O.T certificate.

Very common to have play in VW leg top mountings when the load is off. Most testers wouldn't even mention it and those that put an advisory for
it are just covering themselves.
